Marie Louise Trichet Art Gallery
In The Gallery > About the Gallery

The arts began to flourish at Wisdom House in the early 1990s through the initial efforts of artists Alan Colavecchio and Mary Lou Tanner of Winsted, CT.

They offered the program, "The Artist's Way: A Spiritual Path to Higher Creativity" based on the book by Julia Cameron. In the first three years the program was offered over two hundred artists came to Wisdom House and found a community which supported them in their art life.

"Art is an act of the soul . . . When we are dealing with people's dreams - their visions, really - we are in the realm of the sacred. We are involved with forces and energies larger than our own. We are engaged in a sacred transaction of which we know only a little. For these reasons, it is mandatory that any gathering of artists be in the spirit of a sacred trust"
-- Julia Cameron, The Artist's Way

As a natural development of this respect for the arts, in 1994 the Marie Louise Trichet Art Gallery opened. The Marie Louise Trichet Art Gallery has become an alternative space in an alternative place featuring works of local, national, and international artists.
