Thursday water Aerobics

$30 per session.

Enjoy 60 minutes of instruction | Followed by 60 minutes of optional open pool time

 

Join Cindy LaPlaca for a light-hearted, low-impact class that is performed in shallow water and is designed to improve joint stability, coordination, heart health, and strength. Begin with an aerobic warm-up, increasing in intensity. Progress with optional handheld Styrofoam weights or noodles that can be used to create more targeted muscle conditioning or effective core work. The class concludes with a relaxing cool-down and stretch with open swim time.


Aquatic aerobic classes are great for swimmers and non-swimmers alike, your head is not submerged and your feet stay on the floor, unless a flotation device is used. Some of the benefits of the workout include the resistance of the water against the body, it’s easily modified for all levels of fitness; it is easy on the joints. And a refreshing dip during your workout!


Cindy LaPlaca is a Litchfield native, presently living in Morris, CT. She has been a fitness trainer for 30 years, certified for group classes, personal training and aquatic aerobics. For the past 15 years, she has taught a variety of classes, including Aquatic Conditioning, at the Mayflower Spa, now known as the Well, in Washington, CT; Step Aerobics and Muscle Conditioning for the Morris Recreation Department for 30 years; two summer sessions at the Wisdom House pool; and also does in-home trainings.
