A meditative and community experience...

Drumming provides the perfect focus for a meditative experience. Each gathering starts with the setting of our intentions for the session, flows into using a chant with drumming to center the group, and creates the energy of community. Drum rhythms for the use of personal meditation and quieting the mind will also be explored. Participants may bring any type of hand drum – i.e. djembes, bodhrans, frame drums, Native American drums – or they may use one of the drums or rhythm instruments that will be available.

Susan Strand is a graduate of the Women's Leadership Institute at Hartford Seminary; organist at the Church of Christ Congregational in Goshen, CT; long time experience playing African drums and rhythms and drumming programs at Wisdom House. Susan has a background of sharing her belief that all drumming is spiritual.
