Ever Ancient, Ever New…
Evelyn Eckhardt, DW
Through the ages, women and men have sought a relationship with the living God. One of the ways God is imaged in the Judeo-Christian tradition is as Wisdom. In the Wisdom tradition we find a way of living and of being in relationship with one another and with Creation, of being in touch with the ordinary, and with God in the ordinary.
Wisdom spirituality is particularly significant in our contemporary scene because at its heart is a sense of being inclusive: Lady Wisdom sets the table and she invites everyone to come. God who dwells within us invites us to be as she is, welcoming, hospitable, and respectful of each and every person. Through praying together, presentations, and quiet reflection, we will explore how the image of Wisdom enriches our encounter with the Holy One and with one another in these divisive times. Bring a journal to write in. Includes lunch.
