Presented by Marguerite Mullée
This workshop focuses on the beautiful chants regarding Mary including Marian antiphons, the Magnificat, hymns, and special chants for the feast days. Participants will study the elements of Chant, including Gregorian notation and modes, and will learn strategies for legato singing, breath support and blending within a group. We will also explore the meaning of Marian Chants and their use in liturgical and private prayer. All singing will take place outside, as per CDC and State of Connecticut guidelines.
Traditionally, the month of May has been known as the month of Mary. We will recognize this devotion with a crowning of the statue of Mary in the garden, which will include a brief ceremony with chants from the day’s workshop.
Cost $60 with Lunch Included
