Presented by Maureen O’Brien, M.A.
In this writing workshop we will explore personal narratives of how we have come to form, or perhaps also shed, our own spiritual beliefs. What might begin as a tiny moment can inform what we believe for a lifetime. Other experiences are true epiphanies that also deeply change us. Using journaling techniques and inspiring prompts, we will write about those moments in our lives--what we turned toward, or away from. Weaving in literary techniques--dialogue, sensory detail, suspense--we will craft stories of these transformative faith experiences. Using models that include Thomas Merton and Langston Hughes, this workshop will provide support, inspiration and space to uncover the stories that have been essential in shaping our inner and outer lives. All levels of writing experience are welcome.
