The Parallel Teachings of Jesus and Buddha: Awaken Your Compassion
Presented by Br. Mark D’Alessio
This online program is a continuation of Brother Mark’s previous program, and we invite you to attend even if you were not present for Part I in June.
The parallel teachings of Jesus and the Buddha set a high bar for human being and doing. It is not easy to love your enemy (Jesus); it is not easy to cherish all living beings (Buddha). Join us for an online spirit-filled retreat day to help you make these teachings a living part of your daily prayer and practice. Adding to last month’s program, Part II of this meditation retreat will include new essential practices that can awaken your capacity for compassion for self and others, including “Tonglen” meditation (Buddhist) and “Mirror of Eternity” contemplation (Christian).
You will be surprised to find yourself more present and with the ability to live with hope, even in situations that seem impossible. Whatever path you are on, Brother Mark, who is initiated in both Christian and Buddhist traditions, will help you discover and experience the complementary wonders in the teachings and practices that unite these two great figures.
This program is an online live-stream through Zoom. Cost is $25.
