Presented by Stephen Kassel from Chanticleer Acres
A no-till approach to growing nutrient dense food with regenerative methods. Victory gardens represent the concepts of self-reliance, community and freedom. This course will teach you to grow nutritious food and improve your soil. You will learn to design a Victory garden that fits your resources and constraints.
In this course you will learn how to pick the best site for your garden, how to choose seed and start seedlings, the best method of growing (raised beds, containers, or in-ground), and appropriate succession planting so you will always have something to harvest.
A “Modern Victory Garden” is one that is appropriate in its scale. Improved engagement to nature, continued learning and a bountiful harvest all mark success. Let's start down the path to Victory together.

Stephen Kassel is from Chanticleer Acres where he is the head grower. He is a graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Agriculture with a BS in Agriculture and Resource Economics. His lifelong passion for growing things has taken him to farms throughout New England and led him to study sustainable agriculture and the mediterranean diet on Tuscan farms in Italy. Before becoming the head farmer at Chanticleer Acres Stephen worked for several years in the renewable energy industry. He brings his commitment to tackling the issue of climate change with him and sees Regenerative Agriculture as a concrete way to sequester carbon in the soil while producing nutrient rich food.
