Sr. Peggy Murphy, OP has worked in the field of Counseling and Education in New York City, Puerto Rico and Orange and Sullivan Counties in New York. Sister is a New York Certified Addiction Counselor and has worked in inpatient treatment at Villa Veritas and Pius XII Adolescent Center, in Downstate and Fishkill Correction Facilities and in Outpatient treatment with Children of Alcoholics. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Education from St. John’s University, a Master’s degree in Pastoral Counseling from Iona College Graduate School and a Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from Yeshiva University (Manhattan) and a Doctorate in Theology from Drew University in Madison, New Jersey. She served as Chairperson of the Division of Philosophy and Religious Studies, at Mount Saint Mary College (Newburgh, New York) where she is currently a Professor Emerita of World Religions
